Voreichen is a wasteland in the Upper Franconian town of Bad Staffelstein in the Lichtenfels district .

geography

Voreichen is located about seven kilometers northwest of Lichtenfels in the north of an elongated triangle between Itz and Main . The place is to the west at the foot of the Banzer Mountains in the neighborhood of Altenbanz .

history

Duke Wilhelm in Bavaria had acquired the land of the Banz monastery in 1814 . Voreichen was built in the second half of the 19th century as a ducal Bavarian forester's house on a plot of land in the Altenbanz district in the corridor with the “Voreichen” forest.

In 1871 the wasteland, which belonged to the rural community of Weingarten , had two residents and two buildings. The then main town Weingarten is located five kilometers southeast. The responsible Catholic church was located in Banz Monastery, three kilometers away, and the school about one kilometer away in Altenbanz. In 1900 three people lived in a residential building in the desert. The responsible Catholic parish was in Altenbanz, the responsible Protestant parish was in Herreth, five kilometers away . In 1925 Voreichen had eight residents and one residential building, in 1950 three residents lived in one residential building. In 1970 the place had six residents and in 1987 two residents and a residential building.

On July 1, 1972, the Staffelstein district was dissolved and the community of Weingarten was incorporated into the Lichtenfels district. At the same time, Voreichen was spun off from the community of Weingarten and merged with Altenbanz , Stadel , Neubanz , Nedensdorf and Unnersdorf to form the new community of Banz , which was then dissolved on January 1, 1978 and incorporated into the town of Staffelstein. Since then, Voreichen has been part of Staffelstein.
