The 31st Vuelta Chile took place from January 5th to 15th, 2012. The bike race was held in ten stages over a distance of 1,400 kilometers. It belonged to the UCI America Tour 2012 and was classified in category 2.2 .

Overall winner of the stage race was the Chilean Patricio Almonacid of the Clos de Pirque - Trek team with only 18 seconds ahead of the Colombian Félix Cárdenas (Shimano GW) and just under two minutes before his compatriot Gonzalo Garrido .

Participating teams

Twenty teams received invitations, including the Spanish Professional Continental Team Andalucía and the Austrian Continental Team ARBÖ Gebrüder Weiss-Oberndorfer and three national teams.
