The 47th Vuelta al Táchira took place from January 13-22, 2012 in Venezuela . The bike race was held in ten stages over a distance of 1,341.7 kilometers. It belonged to the UCI America Tour 2012 and was classified in category 2.2.

Overall winner was the Venezuelan Yimmy Briceño from the Loteria Táchira Cauchos Guayana team ahead of his compatriot and teammate Rónald González and defending champion Manuel Medina (Gobierno del Zulia).

Participating teams

Nine local and seven foreign cycling teams, including one national team, received invitations. The RusVelo team , as the Professional Continental Team, was the top-notch participating team. German-speaking drivers were not at the start.
