The 42nd Vuelta al Táchira took place from 7th to 21st January 2007 in Venezuela . The bike race was held in fourteen stages and a day of rest over a distance of 1892 kilometers. It belonged to the UCI America Tour 2007 and was classified there in category 2.2.

Overall winner of the stage race was the Colombian Hernán Buenahora from Gobernación del Zulia - Alcaldía de Cabimas ahead of his Venezuelan team-mate Manuel Medina , who was unable to defend his previous year's title. The podium was completed by Medina's compatriot Jackson Rodríguez ( Loteria Del Tachira-Banfoandes ).

At the start were teams from Colombia , Cuba , Italy , Mexico and Venezuela , including a national team. A total of twenty teams took part.
