The 41st Vuelta al Táchira took place from January 7th to 20th, 2006 in Venezuela . The bike race was held in fourteen stages over a distance of 1920 kilometers. It belonged to the UCI America Tour 2006 and was classified in category 2.2.

The overall winner of the stage race was the Venezuelan Manuel Medina of Gobierno Zulia Alc Cabimas ahead of the two Colombians José Serpa and Hernán Buenahora , who rode in the same team as Medina.

Attendees

At the start were teams from Colombia , Cuba , Russia , Mexico and Venezuela , including three national teams. A total of eighteen teams took part. Some teams sent several teams into the race, for example Gobierno del Zulia Alc de Cabimas .
