The constituency of Auerbach I was a state electoral district for the state election in Saxony in 1990 , the first state election after the re-establishment of the state of Saxony. Its constituency number was 79.

The constituency comprised the following cities and communities in the Auerbach district : Altmannsgrün , Auerbach / Vogtl. , Beerheide , Eich / Sa. , Ellefeld , Hartmannsgrün , Neustadt / Vogtl. , Oberlauterbach , Plohn , Rebesgrün , Reumtengrün , Rodewisch , Röthenbach , Rothenkirchen , Rützengrün , Schnarrtanne , Schreiersgrün , Treuen , Wernesgrün and Wildenau .

For the 1994 state elections , the constituency structure was changed as a result of the district reform, and the number of constituencies was reduced from 80 to 60. The area of ​​the constituency Auerbach I was divided into two constituencies. While the city of Auerbach / Vogtl. with the now incorporated village of Schnarrtanne and the villages of Beerheide, Ellefeld and Neustadt / Vogtl. moved to the constituency of Göltzschtal 2 , the remaining towns and communities in the constituency of Auerbach I remained in the newly formed constituency of Göltzschtal 1 .
