Walter Scheuer

Walter Scheuer (born October 7, 1927 in Schwechat , † December 27, 2012 in Vienna ) was an Austrian actor .

Life

After attending school in Vienna , Scheuer began training as an accountant . In addition, he completed an acting training at the drama school of Marianne Lamber-Offer in Vienna.

He began his career as a theater actor in Baden near Vienna and in Wiener Neustadt . He then had guest engagements in Chur , at the Bernhard Theater in Zurich , and later at the Comedy in Berlin . In Vienna he performed at the Theater der Courage , the Theater “Die Tribüne” , the Ateliertheater Wien , the Raimundtheater , the Volkstheater Wien , the Theater in der Josefstadt and the Kleine Komödie in Walfischgasse (1010 Vienna). He also took part in the Laxenburg Cultural Summer , the Stockerau Festival and the Bad Ischl Operetta Weeks (including in the summer of 1992 as Duke Max in Bavaria in the Sissy operetta ). In 2003 he also appeared in William Shakespeare's comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Theatertage in Bad Kissingen .

Since the 1960s he has appeared regularly as an actor, particularly in countless productions on the Vienna Löwinger stage . Numerous performances have also been recorded for television by Austrian radio . At the Löwinger stage he was almost always the "permanent partner" of Sissy Löwinger . In 2002 he also played there in the play Die Weiberfeinde, written by Sissy Löwinger . Scheuer also went on several tours with the Löwinger stage .

Scheuer also played a number of television and film roles. In 1978 he played a police officer in Prague in the US miniseries Holocaust - The Story of the White Family .

Scheuer should not be confused with the American investor , philanthropist and producer of documentary films of the same name , Walter Scheuer , who died in 2004. Walter Scheuer suffered from cancer for several years .
