Wang Zhen (athlete)
Wang Zhen ( Chinese 王 鎮 / 王 镇 , Pinyin Wáng Zhèn; born August 24, 1991 in Heilongjiang Province ) is a Chinese walker .
In 2010 he set an Asian record with 37:44 minutes and a junior world record in 10 km walking. The following year, he finished fourth in the 20 km walk at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu . Over the same distance, he won the bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London . At the 2013 World Championships in Moscow , he was disqualified. In 2015 he won the silver medal over 20 km at the 2015 World Championships in his own country in Beijing . At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , he was Olympic champion over 20 km.
Wang Zhen is trained by Sandro Damilano, the older brother of the Italian Olympic champion Maurizio Damilano .
