The Washington Township is one of 17 townships in Dubuque County in eastern US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .

Washington Township is located in eastern Iowa around 20 km south of Dubuque , the center of the region on the Mississippi , which separates Iowa from Wisconsin and Illinois .
The Washington Township lies at 42 ° 20'14 "north latitude and 90 ° 43'36" west longitude and extends over 93 km².
Washington Township is bordered within Dubuque County to the west by Prairie Creek Township , to the northwest by Vernon Township , to the north by Table Mound Township and to the northeast by Mosalem Township . Washington Township borders Jackson County to the east and south .
traffic
US Highway 61 , which is the shortest connection from Dubuque to the Quad Cities to the south, runs through the Washington Township in a north-south direction . In the extreme northwest, a small section of the freeway US Highway 151 leads through the Washington Township. All other roads within the township are county roads and further subordinate and partly unpaved roads.
The Dubuque Regional Airport lies just north of Washington Township.

At the 2010 census , the township had 432 residents. Within the Washington Township there is only one independent municipality (with the status " City ") besides scattered settlement with Zwingle . Part of it is in neighboring Jackson County.
