The New Wine Township is one of 17 townships in Dubuque County in eastern US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .

The New Wine Township is located in eastern Iowa around 45 km west of Dubuque , the center of the region on the Mississippi , which separates Iowa from Wisconsin and Illinois .

The New Wine Township is located at 42 ° 31'11 "north latitude and 91 ° 04'19" west longitude and extends over 94.8 km². The New Wine Township is traversed by the northern arm of the Maquoketa River .

The New Wine Township borders within Dubuque County in the north on the Liberty Township , in the northeast on the Concord Township , in the east on the Iowa Township , in the southeast on the Taylor Township and in the south on the Dodge Township . To the west, the township borders Delaware County .

A small section of US Highway 20, which has been converted into a freeway, runs through the New Wine Township in the extreme southwest corner . From the north, Iowa Highway 136 runs through the entire township. In addition, a number of county roads and partially unpaved subordinate roads lead through the New Wine Township.

In an east-west direction, a Canadian National Railway runs from Chicago via Dubuque to the west through the New Wine Township.

The closest airfields are Dubuque Regional Airport , located around 55 km south-east, and Monticello Regional Airport, around 45 km south-west .

At the 2010 census , the township had 4,804 inhabitants. In addition to scattered settlements, there are two independent communities within the New Wine Township (both of which have " City " status ):
