Shūkan Shōnen Champion ( Japanese 週刊 少年 チ ャ ン ピ オ ン , also Weekly Shōnen Champion ) is a Japanese manga magazine that is aimed at male adolescents and is therefore included in the Shōnen category. It has been published weekly by Akita Shoten since July 15, 1969 .
While the magazine was one of the best-selling weekly Shōnen magazines in the 1970s and 1980s, it has since fallen behind other publications, but is still one of the four most important of its division. In 2010, the sold circulation was around 500,000. In the first few decades, the stories focused on crime stories, but already had an "anarchist streak". Since the 1990s, the focus has shifted to "exaggerated, tasteless" comedies and parodies.
