history

The manorial viticulture in Kleinbottwar can be traced back to the year 950, the viticulture at Schaubeck Castle is first mentioned in a document from 1297. At that time the wine was delivered as "Schaubecker" to various European farms. In 1853, the land and the castle went to Felix Freiherr von Brusselle (1811–1877), who promoted viticulture and whose name was the inspiration for today's brand name Brusselse and Bruxelles'r Spitzen . In addition, the brand name alludes to the Brussels lace . The wines were presented and awarded at international exhibitions and trade fairs. His daughter Sophie married Heinrich Adelmann von Adelmannsfelden in 1875 , who, as a trained forester, expanded the winery and from 1893 expanded the range to include bottled Riesling bottles in addition to the previous barrels . In 1914 the name was changed to Graf Adelmann winery . After Heinrich's death in 1920, his son Raban Adelmann von Adelmannsfelden became the owner of the estate, who was followed by his nephew Raban Adelmann in 1935. In 1945 he installed his first own bottling plant and, together with his wife, expanded the winery further after the Second World War . In 1978 his son, the lawyer Michael Graf Adelmann, took over the management of the winery in the fourth generation. The winery has been under the management of his son Felix, a trained business economist, since 2012.
