The Weißsporstachelinge ( Bankera ) are a genus of mushrooms in the family of the Weißsporstachelinge (Bankeraceae).

features

The Weißsporstachelinge form medium-sized fruiting bodies divided into hat and stem with a velvety to scaly hat surface that can be white to brown in color. The hymenophore of the Weißsporstacheling consists of gray spines in ripe fruiting bodies. The stem of the Weißsporstachelinge is full-fleshed and colored like the hat. The meat (trama) is firm to fibrous and light and not zoned. When drying, the mushrooms clearly smell of lovage or maggi .

The hyphae system consists of similar hyphae (monomitic). They are inflated and do not have buckles . There are no cystids . The basidia are four-pore; the spore powder is white. The spores themselves are hyaline and have a spherical to broadly elliptical shape and a bumpy to prickly surface.

ecology

The Weißsporstachelinge are mycorrhizal fungi that are associated with conifers. The fruiting bodies grow on the ground.
