Weisten is a village in the Belgian Eifel with 64 inhabitants that belongs to the municipality of Burg-Reuland in the German-speaking Community .
geography
Weisten is located in the far north of the municipality of Burg-Reuland, immediately west of Crombach and north of Braunlauf . The town of Sankt Vith is about five kilometers northeast.
history
It is known that Weisten existed as early as 1552. In 1885 the foundation stone was laid for the local Sacred Heart Chapel, the gallery and courtyard of which were built in 1936 and 1955, respectively. From 1923, there was a school in the upper half of the local customs house, which continued to teach until 1972. In 1936, a stop on the Libramont – St. Vith opened. Traffic on the route was stopped in the 1960s.
