career

Originally from the US state of Georgia , Carter was born basketball because his mother had practiced the sport at the University of Mississippi and his father at Delta State University . Carter played on the school team at Pace Academy in Atlanta and rose to become one of the most hopeful basketball talents of his year in the US. As a newcomer to the team in the 2017/18 season, he promptly became a pillar of the “Blue Devils” and was in the starting line-up in all of his 37 season appearances. Carter recorded 13.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocked throws per game. The latter was the team maximum.

On April 16, 2018, his 19th birthday, Carter announced that he would end his career at university level and switch to professional life by enrolling in the NBA's draft process . There, in June 2018, the Chicago Bulls secured the rights to Carter, who was selected in seventh place. As an NBA newcomer, Carter played 44 games for Chicago in the 2018/19 game year (10.3 points, 7.0 rebounds / game) before he had to undergo a thumb operation.
