When my sweetheart beats the drum is a German hit film that was filmed at Faakersee and Wörthersee , among other places , and premiered in several cities on August 20, 1971. The rather complicated story is, as usual in this genre, very heavily overlaid by gags and music, so that it only becomes of secondary importance.

action

The composer Kristian Werner brought valuable uranium samples from Brazil for his father's company , which the competition would like to steal from him. By chance Kristian meets Dr. Kellermann and his daughter Anita, who swaps the uranium for ordinary gravel stones without being noticed.

At the Waldsee school you have completely different problems at the same time. This is where the school gang “The Black Hand” is up to mischief. Nobody suspects that Director Berzelius is behind the attacks, as he would like to achieve his retirement in this way. When it is announced that the new director named Dr. Kellermann will arrive soon, the silly caretaker tries to drive him away. Kristian, who falls in love with Felicitas, Berzelius' niece, is mistaken for Dr. Kellermann held.

Finally everything clears up. The competition steals the suitcase with the worthless gravel stones, while Kristian finds his rock samples thanks to Anita's help and is also happy with Felicitas.

Reviews

“Director Peter Weck used well-known confusion, stupid and cream cake gags, added a good pinch of Heimatfilm romance, mixed in a few Roy Black hits and mixed everything up with schoolboy slapstick in the style of the popular“ louting and drumming films '" ( Film echo / film week )
"This time, Peter Weck took it into his clumsy hand to mix the ingredients from school desk and sweetheart films into another stew" (Der Abend)
