Claudia Butenuth

Claudia-Gloria Butenuth (born September 20, 1945 in Göttingen ; † September 1, 2016 ) was a German actress .

Life

During her childhood in Berlin, Cologne and Nantes she took acting lessons there and later in Munich, which she passed and graduated in 1967 with the examination at the Paritätische Bühnengenossenschaft. After she had already trained as an electroencephalographer during her acting training at the University Clinic in Cologne , Butenuth devoted herself to an apprenticeship as a naturopath from 1975 to 1977.

Already during the drama lessons Butenuth was in the TV movie Panopticon should follow their first appearance in front of the camera, to the numerous international work, so in addition to James Mason and Kirk Douglas in the TV movie The Legend of Silent Night . She played next to Joachim Fuchsberger in the Edgar Wallace film The Secret of the Green Pin , next to Heinz Erhardt in Willi the child will already swing . She was often seen in Italian and French productions. Her internationally known film partners include Omar Sharif , Michael Caine , Sophia Loren , John Cassavetes , Jeff Bridges , Bianca Jagger , Robert Vaughn and Max von Sydow .

For three decades, Claudia Butenuth appeared again and again as a guest actress on television, including in multi-part series such as Paul Gauguin or Die Stadt im Tal , but also in long-lasting series such as Die Schwarzwaldklinik , Der Alte and Derrick . In the meantime, she took on theater engagements, including in Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Munich. She received a number of honors and awards.

From the mid-1980s onwards, she cut back her film work and worked primarily as a painter. At the same time she was an enthusiastic tennis player and won, for example, the Greater Cup "Dali Sculpture" in 1981, in which she participated in aid of the German Cancer Aid . In 1986 she was the initiator of the Children's Cancer Aid, in which many colleagues also got involved. She built up the organization for three years and then handed it over to the parents' initiative for children with cancer to help them help themselves.

In 1990 she published the autobiography Encounters , two years later she wrote the short story collection Two Men and One Woman together with two writers , which was followed by other literary works.

In 1995 Butenuth withdrew completely from acting after a Derrick episode and devoted himself to children's projects, in particular the Children Are Our Future e. V. and since 2008 the project "lunch 4 children", which finances school lunches for children in the Hunsrück.

In July 2008 Butenuth married Patrick Neville Booth from South Africa on Bornholm . She was the mother of a son. Oliver Butenuth, who was occasionally active as a child actor in the 1970s, died of an aneurysm on January 27, 2014 in Forio on Ischia , where he worked as an artist and ran a gallery.

In 2016 Claudia Butenuth was seen in About Death . The short film produced by the University of Television and Film Munich shows the interview with the fatally ill former actress. She died a short time later from the consequences.
