Werner Fuetterer (born January 10, 1907 in Barth ; † February 7, 1991 in Benidorm ) was a German actor .

Life

Fuetterer grew up in Guatemala, where his father ran a hacienda . In 1919 the family returned to Germany and settled in Lübeck. In autumn 1924 he was accepted into the Berlin drama school. Because of a surprising film offer from Sweden in late 1924, he left drama school prematurely.

As a teenage lover, Fuetterer quickly became a sought-after silent film actor of the twenties. He played his most important role of this time as Archangel Michael in the literary film adaptation of Faust - a German folk legend . Soon, however, he only had supporting roles. He often acted as a good friend of the main actor, for example in the Rühmann films The Model Husband and I entrust you with my wife . Fuetterer also played theater on the side and toured the United States from 1937 to 1939.

After the war he was able to continue his career without any problems and for many years acted as chairman of the now dissolved Association of German Film Actors. Since 1957 he lived in Spain and ran a camping and bungalow complex there.
