Werner Gallinge
Werner Gallinge (* 1916 in Berlin ) is a former German cyclist who was active in the GDR in the 1950s . Gallinge was GDR road master in 1951.
Athletic career
The highlight of the cycling career of Werner Gallinge from Berlin was winning the GDR championship in 1951 in an individual road race . At that time he was already 35 years old and drove for the company sports community (BSG) unit Berliner Bär . After the end of the Second World War he started for the BRC final spurt in Berlin . In the GDR tours he was in 1952 with the Team Sports Association unit I won the team classification , in 1953 he finished third, the best individual score of the tour.
Professional
Between 1956 and 1958, Gallinge was the national coach of the GDR road drivers.
Familiar
His son Jürgen Gallinge was a functionary in the German Cycling Association of the GDR , among other things he was treasurer of the association and international commissioner of the Union Cycliste International (UCI).
