Initially, the Werthenbach turns to the southwest. About a kilometer behind its source, it takes on one of its first tributaries on the left, which runs down from the northern slope of the Bockenberg. A few meters further on there is another, somewhat longer tributary on the right. Then several short tributaries from the surrounding mountains flow into it. Shortly before the Lützelbach reaches the village of Werthenbach, it receives another tributary on the right, which is fed by two sources. In Werthenbach , the Breitenbach follows, which, like the Lützelbach, runs down from the Stiegelburg. At the latest at the mouth of the Breitenbach, the river is also called Werthenbach.
After the Werthenbach has taken in a few more small tributaries, its longest tributary, the Geiersgrundbach, flows to it on the left below Werthenbach Bahnhof . From Werthenbach the river turns to the west and later to the northwest. Then the Werthenbach takes on a few smaller tributaries, then it reaches the village of Helgersdorf . There the Ochsenbach flows to the left. Between Helgersdorf and Salchendorf , the Schalkenbach, which rises on the Heinenberg, follows on the right . In Salchendorf the Mittelbach flows into it. Then it flows through a meadow valley parallel to Johannlandstrasse (later called Herborner Strasse).
After feeding a natural outdoor pool and crossing under the Albert Irle Street in Deuz the value stream flows to around 314 m height on the left side to the victory .
