Wes Craven's Shocker (The Music) is the title of the published 1989 Soundtrack - album to Wes Craven movie Shocker .

background

Songwriter and music producer Desmond Child was responsible for the soundtrack for the film . He was also a member of the group "The Dudes of Wrath" (German: Die Kumpel des Zorns), which was put together only for this album, which, alongside him (vocals), consists of Paul Stanley ( vocals ), Vivian Campbell ( guitar ), Guy Mann-Dude ( Guitar), Rudy Sarzo ( bass ) and Tommy Lee ( drums ). The backing vocals of the three songs recorded by this ensemble ( Shocker, Shockdance and Shocker (Reprise) ) were sung by Child, Kane Roberts , Louis Merlino and Michael Anthony .

The song Timeless Love was recorded for the soundtrack by the singer and guitarist of the band Saraya together with Steve Lukather ( Toto , guitar), John Pierce (bass), David Garfield (keyboard) and Myron Grombacher (drums). Although the rest of the Saraya musicians did not participate, it was marketed as a recording by this band and released as a single in the United States .

The German band Bonfire had recorded a version of the song Sword and Stone, written by Bruce Kulick , Paul Stanley and Desmond Child in 1987 , as part of the work for their third album Point Blank , but did not release it. They therefore made the recording available for the soundtrack.

Megadeth recorded a cover version of the Alice Cooper song No More Mr. Nice Guy for the album , Iggy Pop contributed Love Transfusion, also written by Cooper, with Child and Vladimir Matetski . Other songs came from Dangerous Toys ( Demon Bell ), Voodoo X ( The Awakening and off) Long Iceland originating thrash / speed metal band Dead On ( Different Breed ).

Of all the songs provided, only The Awakening and Different Breed appeared on the artist's studio albums released in 1989. No More Mr. Nice Guy, Sword and Stone, and Timeless Love were released as singles; music videos were produced for No More Mr. Nice Guy and Sword and Stone , both of which contain elements from the film.
