John Pierce (musician)

John Pierce is an American musician. He has been the bass player for the band Huey Lewis & the News since 1994 , but already played in 1986 as a replacement for the injured Mario Cipollina on the tour for the album Fore! for a month with the group. Pierce is also a popular session musician .

biography

Pierce grew up in Hollywood and learned to play various musical instruments from the age of five before he decided on the bass. He studied music for two years at Berklee College of Music in Boston . He then became a sought-after session musician, recording albums with Mick Jagger , Tom Petty , Bruce Hornsby , Paul Westerberg, and Boz Scaggs .

In the 2010s he also participated in the recording of albums for Colbie Caillat ( Breakthrough, 2009), Clay Aiken ( A Thousand Different Ways / Measure of a Man , 2010), Steve Lukather ( Transition, 2013) and Jeff Golub ( The Vault, 2015).
