The group Huey Lewis & The News had her career as a sextet started and for the recordings of some of their albums with the horn section radio - / Soul - band Tower of Power reinforced last 1988 Small World. After the recordings of Four Chords & Several Years Ago, in which founding member Johnny Cola played all the saxophones alone, the band strengthened itself permanently with its own brass section. In 2001 this consisted of Marvin McFadden (trumpet), Ron Stallings (tenor saxophone) and Rob Sudduth (alto saxophone). For Stallings it was the last studio album he recorded with the band, he died in 2009.

The band recorded the album in the "Way Out West" studios and the studio "The Site" in San Rafael . When it was released, the album contained eleven songs, of which So Little Kindness was the re-recording of a piece that the group had recorded for Time Flies ... in 1996 . The band also had the cover of a song by British band Rockpile called When I Write the Book (written by Billy Bremner , Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe ), as well as the duet I'm not in Love Yet sung by Huey Lewis and Wynonna Judd recorded.

As a singles title was Let Her Go and Start Over , and I'm not in Love Yet decoupled. In 2003 a promo CD of We're Not Here for a Long Time (We're Here for a Good Time) was released in Great Britain , on which the second track was I'm not in Love Yet .

Chris Hayes , who was part of the original cast of Huey Lewis & The News, took part in the recording of the album, but left the group after the album was released. He was replaced by Stef Burns , who had previously played for Alice Cooper and Y&T , among others .

reception

Plan B reached number 165 on the US album charts . The single Let Her Go and Start Over made it to number 23 on the American adult contemporary charts (also created by Billboard).
