Marvin McFadden

Marvin McFadden (born January 31 in Vallejo ) is an American musician and has been part of the brass section of the band Huey Lewis & The News since 1994 . His main instrument is the trumpet , but he also plays the flugelhorn , french horn and saxophone .

biography

Marvin McFadden learned to play the trumpet in elementary school. He perfected his playing over the years and became a freelance musician whose variability across genre boundaries was appreciated. Over the years he has performed with artists such as Ella Fitzgerald , Rosemary Clooney , Natalie Cole , Maureen McGovern , Barry Manilow , Diana Krall , Ray Charles , and The Temptations . In 1994 he took part in the recordings of the album Four Chords & Several Years Ago by Huey Lewis & the News and became a permanent member of the brass section of the group, which had previously brought in guest musicians for the recordings of their albums. He has since been involved in all of the band's recordings, but also continues to work for other musicians.

With Tony! Toni! Toné! He recorded the album House of Music in 1996 , and in 1999 he was involved in the recording of Carlos Santana's comeback album Supernatural .
