Viktor Serhijowytsch Sakharov ( Ukrainian Віктор Сергійович Захаров ; born January 8, 1994 in Kiev ) is a Ukrainian ice hockey player who has been playing again at HK Donbass Donetsk in the Ukrainian ice hockey league since 2015 .

Career

Viktor Sakharov began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of HK Sokil Kiev , for whom he made his debut in the 2011/12 season in the Professional Hockey League , the then newly created Ukrainian professional league . Although he was able to win the main round with Sokil, he failed in the playoff final against the second team of HK Donbass Donetsk with 2: 4 wins. In May 2012 he was drafted in the fifth round of the KHL Junior Draft 2012 by the KHL club HK CSKA Moscow . Since then he has been used by the Ukrainian top club HK Donbass Donetsk. First he was on the ice with the club's second team from the Donets Basin , with whom he won the Ukrainian championship title in 2013 . Since 2013 he has been playing in the U20 farm team Molodaja Gwardija Donetsk in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League and in the first team in the Continental Hockey League . After the game in Donetsk had to be discontinued due to the war in Eastern Ukraine , Sakharov moved to Kazakhstan, where he initially played for HK Beibarys Atyrau and since February 2015 for HK Ertis Pawlodar , with whom he became Kazakh champion in 2015 Ice cream stand. Since 2015 he has been playing again for HK Donbass Donetsk, with whom he again became Ukrainian champions in 2016, 2017 and 2018, to which he himself made a significant contribution as top scorer and top scorer of the playoffs and in 2018 as top scorer of the playoffs.

International

Sakharov came in the junior division at the U18 World Championships 2011 in Division II and 2012 in Division I as well as at the U20 World Championships 2012 , when he was the best striker, top scorer (7 goals) and best scorer (9 points) of the tournament and consequently was also recognized as the best player of his team, in Division II, 2013 and 2014 , each in Division I, for his home country.

Sakharov first played for the men's national team of Ukraine in the 2013 World Cup , when he and his team were promoted from group B to group A in Division I, where he then represented his colors in 2014 and 2015 . After relegation in 2015, he rose again to the A group with the Ukrainian team at the 2016 World Cup . After relegation in 2017, in which he was not involved, he also played in Group B of Division I in 2018. In addition, he represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang .
