Wilhelm Koep
Wilhelm Koep (born May 26, 1905 in Auel , today in Belgium ; † June 25, 1999 in Cologne ; full name: Wilhelm Johann Koep ) was a German architect .
Life
Koep was considered the "house architect" of the perfumery company 4711 in Cologne; In addition to various residential and industrial buildings in the Rhineland and the Ruhr area, the Blau-Gold-Haus opposite Cologne Cathedral , the former factory buildings in Cologne-Ehrenfeld (today Barthonia Forum ) and the “Schweizer Ladenstadt” (today Opern Passagen ) come from him.
Koep graduated from the Cologne School of Applied Arts and worked for the architect Ludwig Paffendorf from 1922 onwards . He later took over his office.
The Koeps estate has been included in the historical archive of the City of Cologne under the inventory number 1592 , its whereabouts after the collapse of the archive in March 2009 has not been clarified for the time being.
