Wilhelm of Ledebur

Wilhelm Benjamin Johann Gerhard Karl Freiherr von Ledebur (born July 5, 1859 at Crollage Castle ; † May 24, 1930 ibid) was a German politician and from 1895 to 1917 district administrator of the Lübbecke district in Westphalia .

Life

Wilhelm was the second of twelve children of the Chamberlain and member of the Prussian House of Representatives Albrecht von Ledebur (1827–1899) and his wife Marie, née Freiin von der Recke (1833–1876).

Ledebur passed his school leaving certificate in Gütersloh in 1879 and then did his military service in the Prussian army as a one-year volunteer . He was Prime Lieutenant of the Reserve in the 1st Westphalian Hussar Regiment No. 8 . He then studied law and political science in Strasbourg and Berlin . From 1883 to 1894 he worked at various courts and district governments in the Prussian civil service, most recently with the government in Minden . On October 1, 1894, he was entrusted with the administration of the district office in Lübbecke. On February 28, 1895, the district council of the Lübbecke district proposed him unanimously for appointment as district administrator, the appointment took place on April 10, 1895. On October 28, 1917 , Ledebur submitted a resignation to the district government "because of the worsening internal political situation" December 25, 1917 he was dismissed from civil service.

Wilhelm von Ledebur was a Protestant and married.

Ledebur was holder of the military service award II. Class and the Iron Cross on a white ribbon , Order of the Crown III. Class, Red Eagle Order III. Class with bow and right knight of the Order of St. John .
