Wilhelm von Willich called von Pöllnitz
Wilhelm Christian von Willich called von Pöllnitz (born March 4, 1807 in Reinheim , † February 14, 1887 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian administrative officer and politician and member of the 1st and 2nd chambers of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .
Wilhelm von Willich called von Pöllnitz was the son of the court stable master Justus Martin Willich (1756–1810) and his wife Christine Dorothea Henriette, born Freiin von Pöllnitz (1769–1810). On February 6, 1810 the elevation to the grand ducal nobility took place (see Willich (noble family, 1786) ). Willich called von Pöllnitz, who was Protestant, remained unmarried. He was the brother of Karl von Willich called von Pöllnitz (1802-1875), who was also a member of the state parliament.
Willich gen. Von Pöllnitz studied law at the University of Gießen from 1825 and became district secretary in the Heppenheim district in 1841 before moving to the Dieburg district in the same function in 1843 . In 1847 he became a district councilor in the Worms district . After the March Revolution , the districts were abolished and replaced by administrative districts. Willich gen. Von Pöllnitz became a councilor in the government commission in the Gießen administrative district in 1948 . With the re-establishment of the districts, he became district councilor in Offenbach district in 1852 and in Darmstadt district in 1858 . In 1860 he was promoted to director of the Starkenburg Province . In 1870 he became president of the senior university administration and remained in this position until his retirement in 1874.
From 1844 to 1847 and again from 1848 to 1849 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was chosen for the manorial nobility . From 1874 he was a lifelong member of the first chamber.
