Willersdorf is a place in the municipality of Oberschützen in the Oberwart district in southern Burgenland with 357 predominantly Protestant residents (as of October 31, 2011).

The place was first mentioned in 1289 as "Wilamstorf". Like all of Burgenland, Willersdorf belonged to Hungary (German-West Hungary) until 1920/21 . With the end of World War I was after tough negotiations German-West Hungary in the Treaty of St. Germain and Trianon 1919 Austria awarded. The place has belonged to the newly founded federal state of Burgenland since 1921 (see also the history of Burgenland ).

Katharinenkirche

Willersdorf marks the southern end of the Willersdorfer Gorge . The Fassbinder Museum is of local importance. The Katharinenkirche with a late Romanesque slit window and two modern glass windows by Josef Mikl is of national importance and is under monument protection ( list entry ). The former Protestant elementary school with its tower, built in 1880, is an example of the “tower school landscape” of southern Burgenland. About 50 meters above the valley of the Willersbach are the remains of a small castle, which was built by the Güssing counts between 1279 and 1289, but was destroyed in 1289.
