William Coales
William Coales (born January 8, 1886 in Aldwincle , Northamptonshire , † January 19, 1960 in Sudbury , Suffolk ) was a British long-distance runner .
In the 3-mile team run at the 1908 Olympic Games in London , he finished third behind his teammates Joe Deakin and Archie Robertson and won the gold medal with them. On the same day he started the preliminary round of the 5-mile run, but did not reach the finish.
William Coales started for the Thrapston & District Harriers & Athletic Club.
