Willibald Leierseder
Willibald Leierseder (born July 31, 1930 in Frontenhausen , Niederbayern, † April 16, 2015 in Munich ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman and representative of the Bavarian Bishops' Conference for radio and television at Bavarian Radio .
Life
Willibald Leierseder studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the Pontificium Collegium Germanicum et Hungaricum de Urbe and the Pontifical Gregorian University from 1949 to 1955 . In 1955 he was ordained a priest in Rome . In 1959 he was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD.
From 1959 to 1963 he was a chaplain in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate and Kelheim . Afterwards he was from 1963 to 1968 student chaplain at the Pedagogical University of Regensburg and commissioner for the establishment of the Catholic student chaplaincy. In 1968 he became cathedral preacher at Regensburg Cathedral and diocesan commissioner for the diocese of Regensburg at Bayerischer Rundfunk. From 1971 to 2001 Leierseder was the representative of the Bavarian Bishops' Conference for radio and television at Bayerischer Rundfunk, Deutschlandfunk and Deutsche Welle. He was known nationwide as a commentator on radio and television at major church events.
He last lived in Ammerland, since 2004 in the nursing home of the Sisters of Mercy in Berg am Laim and died after a long illness at the age of 85 in Munich. He was buried in the park cemetery in Ottobrunn .
