Willrich (family)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Carl Friedrich Theodor "Charles Theodor" Willrich (1829–1906) from Uelzen as a Confederate soldier (La Grange, Texas)

Willrich is the name of a thriving Lower Saxon middle-class family that reached Texas and which can be traced back to the year 1570.

origin

The Willrich family (also Wilrich ) goes back to three brothers born around 1570, although the lineage of the middle brother Christianus Willrich, which extends over 14 generations and three continents, is known, but those of the older and younger brother are apparently just as unknown as their names. Christianus Willrich was born in Nieder-Fischbach near Kirchen an der Sieg (Altenkirchen, Rhineland-Palatinate) around 1570, was Secretary to Lüne and had at least one known son named Nicolaus Willrich (* 1595 Gießen in Hesse; † July 29, 1667 in Helmstedt ), probably abbot of the Protestant monastery Mariental , whose descendants are documented.

Civil coat of arms (from 1935)

It was published in 1935 in the course of intensified genealogical research from 1935 to 1944 by the heraldic painter Karl Wenzel (born February 27, 1887 in Ibbenbüren; † September 27, 1947 in Kevelaer) and Carl Wenzel (heraldist) (born June 15, 1869; † May 25, 1949) from Hanover. In the red and green split shield it shows a free forearm and a golden lily scepter , covered with a silver cross band. On the helmet , which is decorated with red and white blankets, there are red and white split open buffalo horns across the corner, with a green octagonal star in between.

In addition, an entirely different, led by the American branch of the family in Texas crest that in just standing there gevierten spherical shield of blue and gold above a golden lion and the front two horizontal red bar shows what is repeatedly placed in the lower half of the shield, what a crowned spangenhelm with an open flight, red-gold on the left, gold-blue on the right, with a gold hexagonal star in between. There is currently no information about any coats of arms of the branches in Minnesota and Brazil.
