The windcock is 517 m above sea level. NN the highest elevation of the Siegerland Northern Hellerbergland , a mountain range often also called Windhahn , on the northeast border between Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia .
It is separated by the Niederschelden-Betzdorfer Siegtal der Sieg from the north-west adjoining Giebelwald and by the Mittlere Hellertal der Heller from the south adjoining southern Hellerbergland .
Geographical location
In the north-east of Rhineland-Palatinate, the wooded Windhahn is not far from the state border with North Rhine-Westphalia, which is 2.3 km to the east, on the boundary of the core town of Kirchen, about 3 km to the west-north-west .
