Wind throat

Windhals is a district of the Markt Winklarn ( Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Oberviechtach ) in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf in Bavaria and is located in the Upper Palatinate North region .

Windhals is located in the Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park , about 2 km northeast of the core town of Winklarn between the 585 m high Geißberg and the 619 m high Kreuzberg.

Neighboring towns are Pondorf in the north , Krapflhof in the southeast , Trad in the southwest , Forsthof in the west and Schneeberg in the northwest .

history

In 1801, Windhals belonged to the Winklarn estate and its owner was Adam Anton Bernclo on Schönreuth near Kemnath - Neustadt, who sold the Winklarn estate in 1803 to the royal Bavarian lieutenant general Carl Wilhelm Graf von Eckart on Leonberg. In 1828 Count Eckart's daughter, Katharina Eugenie, inherited the Winklarn estate. She was married to the French general Count Du Moulin. In 1803 the Murach office was dissolved and Windhals came to the district court of Neunburg vorm Wald with Winklarn . In 1840 the Oberviechtach Regional Court was established , to which Windhals now belonged.

On March 23, 1913 (Easter) Windhals was listed as part of the Winklarn parish with 6 houses and 31 residents. On December 31, 1969, Windhals was listed as part of the community of Schneeberg, to which the districts of Schneeberg, Aschahof, Aschamühle, Buchhof, Forsthof, Höll, Hundhagermühle, Windhals belonged and which at that time had a total of 277 inhabitants. On December 31, 1990, Windhals had 14 residents and belonged to the Winklarn parish.
