history

Altenschneeberg Castle, first mentioned in 1237, was the center of its own office around 1270, to which Hague belonged.

During the Landshut War of Succession from 1504 to 1505, Haag was plundered, so that in 1508 Elector Friedrich had to help the impoverished population.

At the beginning of the 19th century, Haag belonged to the Tiefenbach Patrimonial Court. On May 30, 1840, by order of the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, the Oberviechtach First Class Regional Court was created and assigned to the Hague.

In the 1960s and 1970s, as in many other municipalities in the Upper Palatinate , the natural balance in Haag was disturbed by land consolidation . The landscape, the flora and fauna were irreversibly damaged by the felling of the woods , chemical weed control agents and the destruction of the mosaic-like landscape of ponds, ponds, wasteland, woods and fields .

As of March 23, 1913 (Easter), Haag was listed as part of the Tiefenbach parish with 34 houses and 212 inhabitants. On December 31, 1969, Haag was listed as part of the municipality of Haag, to which the municipality parts Haag and Wastlhof belonged and which at that time had a total of 169 inhabitants. On December 31, 1990, Haag had 154 inhabitants and belonged to the Muschenried branch .
