Obereppenried

Obereppenried is a district of the Markt Winklarn ( Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Oberviechtach ) in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf in Bavaria and is located in the Upper Palatinate North region .

geography

Obereppenried is located in the Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park , about 2 km northeast of the core town of Winklarn on the banks of the Ascha and on the northern side of Bundesstraße 22 . The Aschaauen lie between Obereppenried, Gaisthal and Schneeberg with moist to permanently wet soils. There are numerous ponds and swamp forests here. The landscape between Winklarn and Obereppenried used to be a hut pasture with its typical flora and fauna.

Neighboring towns are Fischerhof in the north , Winklarn in the south-east, Untereppenried in the south and Forst in the north-west .

history

Eppenried, later divided into Untereppenried south of the B22 and Obereppenried north of the B22, is mentioned in writing for the first time in the draft protocol of 1587.

On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Eppenried, consisting of Untereppenried and Obereppenried, was listed as part of the Winklarn parish with 12 houses and 72 inhabitants. On December 31, 1990 Obereppenried had 38 inhabitants and belonged to the Winklarn parish.
