Untereppenried is a district of the Markt Winklarn ( Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Oberviechtach ) in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf in Bavaria and is located in the Upper Palatinate North region .

Untereppenried is located in the Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park , about 2 km east of the core town of Winklarn on the banks of the Ascha and on the southern side of Bundesstraße 22 .

Neighboring towns are Obereppenried in the north , Winklarn in the south-east, Zengeröd in the south and Forst in the north-west .

history

Eppenried, later divided into Untereppenried south of the B22 and Obereppenried north of the B22, is mentioned in writing for the first time in the draft protocol of 1587.

At the beginning of the 19th century, Untereppenried belonged to the Thannstein patrimonial court.

On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Eppenried, consisting of Untereppenried and Obereppenried, was listed as part of the Winklarn parish with 12 houses and 72 inhabitants. On December 31, 1990 Untereppenried had 16 inhabitants and belonged to the Winklarn parish.
