The Winnebacher Weißkogel , also Winnebacher Weißer Kogel , is 3182 m above sea level. A. , according to other information, a 3185 m high mountain in the Stubai Alps in Tyrol .
Location and surroundings
To the west of the White Winnebacher Kogels the covers Zwiselbachtal , a tributary of the Horlachtals that below Niederthai in the Oetztal flows. A rocky ridge runs north to the 3194 m high Gleirscher Fernerkogel . To the northeast is a small glacier called Weißkogelferner , which drains eastwards over the Längental into the Melach in Lüsenstal . Southeast of the mountain is the 2788 m high Winnebachjoch , in the south of which the Hohe Seeblaskogel ( 3235 m ) rises. To the west of the Winnebachjoch lies the Winnebachkar above the Winnebach valley, a side valley of the Sulztal that flows into the Ötztal at Längenfeld . To the southwest, the Winnebacher Weißkogel sends out a pronounced ridge that runs over the 2961 m high Zwiselbacher Weißkogel to the 2870 m high Zwiselbachjoch.
Bases and paths
The traditional normal route leads from the Winnebachjoch over the Weißkogelferner and finally over rocks of difficulty I (UIAA) to the summit. Because of the crevasses danger , however, risen mostly on the right leading up to the summit from the yoke Southeast ridge today. This climb also has difficulty level I. The Winnebachjoch can be reached from the Westfalenhaus ( 2273 m ) in the Längental or from the Winnebachseehütte ( 2362 m ) in the Winnebachtal via marked hiking trails.
The transition over the southwest ridge from Zwiselbacher Weißkogel is possible in difficulty level II-III. The block ridge from Gleirscher Fernerkogel also has difficulty III.
The former normal route over the glacier is used as a ski touring route , especially in spring .
