History of Science Research

A first program proposal for a scientific research to be justified comes from the 1930s by the Polish scientists Maria Ossowska and Stanisław Ossowski . Well-known German-speaking representatives of science research are the sociologists Karin Knorr Cetina and Helga Nowotny , the sociologist Peter Weingart , and the philosopher Gerhard Fröhlich (Linz).

Science research as a subject

Studies in science research are still relatively young in Germany and continental Europe in contrast to the Anglo-American region. In 1997 Heinrich Parthey received a private lecturer in "Science Studies and Bibliometrics" at the Philosophical Faculty of the Humboldt University in Berlin. There are currently at least four universities in Germany that offer courses in science research.
