Wolf-Dieter Herrmann (born April 1, 1950 in Berlin ) is a German journalist and radio and television presenter .

Life

The trained waiter, who never practiced this profession, published his first record as a pop singer soon after his apprenticeship in 1969, which was followed by four more in the 1970s, but it was not a real hit. After an interlude as a sales representative , he started in 1978 as a sports reporter for RIAS Berlin for football and ice hockey. In 1980, Radio Bremen sports director Helmut Poppen called him to the Weser and Herrmann worked for the Bremen broadcaster as a sports editor, presenter and reporter for about 4 years. For several years he also moderated the Bremen Harbor Concert and the early broadcast "We recommend - you choose". From 1983 he also took on the role of moderation for the regional TV program of Radio Bremen in the context of the news program Buten un ininn .

In 1984 Henri Regnier called him to Hamburg as a consultant and presenter for the SAT.1 program for Axel Springer television. On January 1, 1985, he announced the first program day for Sat.1 and moderated numerous quiz, magazine and advertising programs in the first few years of SAT.1. The broadcaster later offered him the moderation of the new program “ Wheel of Fortune” , but Herrmann declined to moderate a game show . In 1987 he was the first presenter of the German breakfast television Guten Morgen with Sat.1 . News anchor was Hans-Hermann Gockel and “Wetterfee” Rita Werner . Herrmann moderated breakfast television more than 500 times until 1990. When the program was moved from Hamburg to Berlin and Herrmann did not want to give up his former home in Bremen , he ended the moderation here.

In 1991 and 1992 Herrmann moderated a game show: 525 episodes of Bingo were produced in Dortmund and broadcast under his direction in the evening program on Sat.1. In 1993 he moderated the Herrmann lunchtime talk show there for a short time, with market shares of up to 18%. In 1996 Herrmann switched to DW-TV and until 2000 presented more than 500 episodes of the weekday, 45-minute cultural and political live broadcast " Boulevard Deutschland" , at times together with comoder Andrea Ballschuh , broadcast in 190 countries around the world. In 1998 he briefly returned to Sat.1, as the first moderator of Weck Up . From 2001 to 2002 he designed the phone call program Greif! at tm3 / 9Live . Since 2004 he has been the editor and presenter of the news show Hallo Berlin on the regional broadcaster FAB , which in 2005 was named “best regional news show” among 35 applicants.

Wolf-Dieter Herrmann is married and lives in Potsdam .
