Wolf Peter Klein

Wolf Peter Klein (* 1961 in Bad Berleburg ) is a German specialist in German .

Life

After graduating from the Jung-Stilling-Gymnasium in Hilchenbach in 1981 and completing compulsory military service in Braunschweig and Hildesheim in 1981/1982 , he studied (German) linguistics, philosophy , religious studies and communication research / phonetics at the University of Bonn and the Free University of Berlin from 1982 to 1988 . After his internship at Walter de Gruyter Verlag ( Berlin ) in 1985/1986 , he received a doctoral scholarship from 1988 to 1990. In the 1989 summer semester he was a lecturer at the German Studies Department at the Free University of Berlin. In 1989/1990 he had a research grant at the Herzog August Library ( Wolfenbüttel ). From 1991 to 1996 he was a research assistant for linguistics at the German Studies Department at the Free University of Berlin. After completing his doctorate in 1991, he held DAAD short-term lectureships at the University of Wrocław in 1994/1996 . In 1996/1997 he received a DFG habilitation grant. Since 1996 he has reported on linguistics and the German language for the FAZ . From 1997 to 2001 he was DAAD lecturer at the Pedagogical University of Tallinn (Estonia) (1998–2001: Professor of German Philology). After completing his habilitation in 1998 at the Department of German Studies at the Free University of Berlin, he received a DAAD return grant in 2001/2002 in cooperation with the Institute for German Language / Grammar Department ( Mannheim ). In 2002/2003 he was a professor at the University of Potsdam . In 2003 he was visiting professor at the Institute for German Studies at the University of Vienna . In the 2003 summer semester he was a professor at the University of Bonn . From 2003 to 2005 he was a student councilor . H. (German Linguistics) at the Ruhr University Bochum . From 2003 to 2006 he was press spokesman for the DGfS . Since 2003 he has been a member of the DAAD lecturer selection committee for Central-East and South-East Europe. From 2006 to 2009 he taught as professor for German linguistics / history of language at the University of Erfurt . Since 2009 he has been teaching at the Chair of German Linguistics ( University of Würzburg ).
