Wolf von Kreytzen

Wolf von Kreytzen , also Wolff or Wolfgang as well as Kreytz or Creytzen (born October 8, 1598 in Groß Peisten bei Bartenstein , † May 14, 1672 in Königsberg ) was a senior marshal in the Duchy of Prussia .

Life

Origin and family

Wolf von Creytzen was a member of the Prussian line Groß Peisten of the noble family von Creytzen . His parents were the Prussian court and court judge , ambassador and captain to Brandenburg and heir to Groß Peisten, Sillginnen , Finken , Achthuben and Hanshagen , Albrecht von Creytzen (1562– approx. 1612) and Helena, née von Borck (1565– after 1633). He married Dorothea von Eylenburg (1608–1648) in his first marriage in 1625 and in 1649 with Euphrosyna Truchsess von Waldburg (1619–1668). A total of 19 children were born from both marriages. The line went out in 1815 and 1852 respectively.

Career

Kreytzen was Brandenburg-Prussian councilor . He became captain of Barthen in 1642, moved to Oletzko in the same position in 1645 and again to Brandenburg am Frischem Haff in 1653. In 1657 he became senior counselor and senior marshal. He is said to have previously been Colonel and Captain at Tilsit and Schaacken .

Kreytzen was also the district administrator and heir to Groß Peisten, Sillginnen, Finken, Achthuben, Abbarten and Albrechtsdorf .
