Wolfert Brederode

Wolfert Brederode (* 1974 in Wassenaar near The Hague ) is a Dutch pianist and composer.

Brederode studied jazz piano at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. He completed his studies with a Masters Degree. With Eric Ineke he founded a quintet. He can be heard among others with Susanne Abbuehl on two CDs of the ECM label , April and Compass . In 2007 the CD Currents of his Wolfert Brederode Quartet with Claudio Puntin , Samuel Rohrer and Mats Eilertsen was released, also by ECM . With David Liebman , Christof May and Florian Zenker he formed the group Nimbus , with which he also recorded. Brederode worked a. a. with Yuri Honing , Michel Portal , Jarmo Hoogendijk , Harry Sokal , Kristina Fuchs , Ack van Rooyen , Arve Henriksen and John Ruocco .
