Motivated by the advice of his father, a photo druggist, Jung did a modern photo education in black and white and color design at two schools in Hamburg and Munich from 1968-69. Studied at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin dffbfrom 1971 to 1976 offered him an experimental broadening of horizons to include directing and film editing, as well as the possibility of realizing two annual film projects that were committed to social policy. The degree took place with a diploma as cameraman, author, director and producer. The graduation film: “Giving the children the floor” about Freinet pedagogy in France was his first long-term documentary. The three-part documentary tells how the pupils in a fourth elementary school class in Alsace, with the help of their teacher, emancipate themselves from traditional frontal teaching pedagogy and really learn to live for YOU / 178 min. / Rating of the film evaluation office : "particularly valuable".

His work as a freelance cameraman since 1971 brought him after his studies in cooperation with former dffb students, such as Rainer Etz, Jörg Gfrörer or Lothar Schuster and Barbara Kasper, with whom he made committed documentaries.

As an author and director, after initial successes at NDR and WDR, he fell under the so-called forecasting procedure, which was directed against possible permanent employment lawsuits by freelance workers and severely restricted creative, freelance work. That is why he founded Delfin Film Produktion, with which he realized commissioned productions for documentaries and docu-fiction projects with a length of 30 to 90 minutes on film and digital formats from 1981.

His teaching position for practical media work in cooperation with the media scientist Professor Irmbert Schenk at the University of Bremen (1973-84) in the department of Communication / Aesthetics - Practical Media Work promoted the practical media skills of teacher and social worker students in one to three semester workshops. Initiated by the Freinet educational film project, there were cinematic opportunities for their students to explore everyday life in Bremen in collaboration with the pedagogue Johannes Beck and the literary scholar Heiner Boehncke . 1983 for example “50 Years of Book Burning” - a Dadaist video collage in collaboration with actors from the Bremen Theater on Goetheplatz. 1983–2012 he had a teaching position at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Design for the practical basics of camera work, film language, film analysis and post-production. There was support for graphic design students with cinematic semester and final theses.
