Wolfgang Senger

Wolfgang Senger (born December 5, 1925 in Göttingen-Geismar ; † June 3, 2009 in Northeim ) was a senior administrative officer of the state of Lower Saxony , most recently as the district president of the district of Hanover .

Senger was the son of a farmer near Göttingen, where he also attended school until the family moved to the Buhla manor in Thuringia in 1939 , so that from then on he attended secondary school in Sondershausen up to 13th grade. From 1943 he did military service in World War II and was wounded. In 1945, after the expropriation, the family moved back to the Göttingen Stadtgut in Geismar, where Wolfgang Senger volunteered with his father for a year. Senger passed his Abitur in Göttingen in 1947 and initially completed an apprenticeship in a bank, also in Göttingen, before he began studying law there in 1947, which he completed in 1952 with the first state examination. After the assessor examination, he first started working for the Federal Ministry of the Interior in 1958 and from there moved from 1962 to 1963 as in-house counsel in the Lower Saxony state bank division. From there he joined the state administration in 1963 and initially worked as a councilor for the Hildesheim district government . In 1964 he was elected district director in the Northeim district and from 1971 to 1977 he was elected senior district director of this district. The Lower Saxony state government appointed him regional president of Hanover in 1977. In retirement he was still employed as a company lawyer for the Sartorius company in Göttingen.

Senger had been a member of the Corps Hannovera Göttingen since 1947 .
