action
The housewife Gloria, who lives with her family in a concrete silo in a suburb of Madrid, leads a miserable life. Her husband Antonio, who mourns his former lover from his time as a guest worker in Germany and therefore listens to songs by Zarah Leander all the time , treats her badly, her sons deal and take to the streets and her mother-in-law nags her.
In order to improve the poor salary of her husband Antonio, she cleans the unsuccessful writer Lucas and his wife Patricia through the agency of the prostitute Cristal. Lucas dreams of forging Hitler's diaries to make big money. Antonio's former German lover is supposed to help. During an argument with Antonio, Gloria accidentally kills him with a leg of ham because he demands a freshly ironed shirt from Gloria for the meeting with his lover. After Antonio's death, the family threatens to break up completely, as Gloria's eldest son wants to move to the country with his grandmother.
