Its source is north of Schierke and west of the Hohnekamm with the Hohneklippen above Jakobsbruch at about 848  m above sea level. NHN . First it flows between Hohnekamm and Erdbeerkopf towards the east. After the brook has turned to the southeast, it meets the Glashüttenweg with the Harzer Hexenstieg , where almost the entire amount of water is diverted into the Wormsgraben through a weir . Then the tracks of the Brockenbahn , Landesstraße  100 (Hagenstraße) lead over the Wormke through a dam and the tracks of the Harzquerbahn . After leaving the national park, the stream continues to flow in the nature park. Near Mandelholz , the Wormke flows into the Kalte Bode a little above the Mandelholztalsperre (flood protection basin Kalte Bode) at an altitude of 463  m .

The Almond Woods Pond (Wormketalsperre) was located in the lower reaches until the dam broke on July 22, 1855 .
