Wulmstorf is mentioned for the first time in 1197 in a deed of foundation of the old monastery in Buxtehude. In 1902, a major fire started at the school building and destroyed half of the village. At the end of the Second World War, around April 20th, heavy fighting broke out between the advancing English and German soldiers in the area of ​​Wulmstorf, during which several buildings went up in flames.
