The Wurmloh Pass is a saddle between the Kosseine and Hohe Matze mountain ranges in the Fichtelgebirge (northeast Bavaria). At 652 m above sea level, the state road St 2665 runs across the pass in a north-south direction from Kemnath and Brand (Upper Palatinate) to the district town of Wunsiedel in the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains .

Surname

The pass is named after the place Wurmloh , which is passed through at the pass and belongs to the municipality of Nagel .

Hydrology

The main European watershed between the Black Sea and the North Sea runs through the Wurmloh Pass from east to west . The streams south of the apex flow over Gregnitz , Naab and Danube to the Black Sea , the streams north over Röslau , Eger and Elbe to the North Sea.

On the European main watershed, the main hiking trail Höhenweg, marked by the Fichtelgebirgsverein , runs in the Kossine-Hohe Matze section .
