Yenişehir ( German Neustadt , Kurdish : Bajarê Nû ) is a city in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Diyarbakır and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Diyarbakır (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) in southeastern Turkey .
The history of Yenişehir is identical to that of Diyarbakır. Yenişehir was built north of the old town outside the city walls. The city of Diyarbakır was declared a metropolitan commune in December 1993 and received a lord mayor's office. At that time, mayor offices were established in the Sur and Yenişehir districts. In March 2008, the urban area of Yenişehir was divided into four newly founded İlçe . The city as a whole no longer existed and no longer appeared in the statistics. The total population was 206,793 at the end of 2018, which corresponds to 3rd place on the population ranking of the 17 İlçe .. According to the city logo, Yenişehir received the status of a Belediye (municipality) in 1994
